Love the videos.. Question: I was planning on doing radiant heating for my
driveway and garage. It never occurred to me to lay down Styrofoam then
the tubes. I would have thought that the Styrofoam would not be strong
enough to hold the concrete yet alone the cars. Also what was the reason
for going with a different thickness on the Styrofoam from the bottom part
to the top part of the garage? I can’t remember which part of the video I
was listen to but I think you said something like 1″ for the bottom and 2″
for the top.
FYI: You can do the vapor barrier on top of the foam, too. Some prefer it
once they’ve experienced pouring concrete that finds a gap and fills in
under the foam. The whole thing floats upward and you either have to
abandon insulation or shovel lots of concrete fast.
