How do you know where to avoid hitting the rebar before the location of the
    drill is decided?

We don’t. I’m not really sure, if that drill can go right through it or
    not? I’ll ask him.

That is a real fancy boring tool, makes a nice 3 to 4 inch hole on an 8
inch foundation, probably pricy as well.
What about a 12 in long half inch wide drill bit on a heafty hand drill and
making several smaller holes and just chisel through, more work and muscle,
but the $10 or so price is right.
What is that boring machine and who makes it? I may need to work with less
    muscle some day?

    hi,
I live in a complex above a store. Over the last two weeks the store below
have been drilling constantly every day with pneumatic drills etc to cut
down into the foundation to make an entrance into the basement. We have
had to endure the drilling every day for approx 8 hours or more. Besides
the obvious psychological effect it is having on the Residents here we are
also concerned about the damage it might be doing to our homes above the
store as they are constantly drilling into the foundation. They will be
doing this for another two weeks. It is also vibrating in parts of our homes
Anyone any idea what kind if any the damage this drilling could be doing to
    our homes
