Good luck with that manifold I bought the same one and was very happy with
it until I actually started to use it. It is so restrictive in flow that
Taco 10 pump cant push enough fluid thru it No to mention it will leak on
    you and gauges are useless

This is great advice. I would say for anyone else reading, I’m finding the
same things with these manifolds. I’ve had one zone leak on me. I’ve broken
one of the gauges, and the knobs are useless for anyone without tiny hands.
Thanks for the comment man! :)

Tested gauges in hot water. 20 degrees difference between them leaked from
the drain valve on the hot side what looks like garden hose threads on hot
and cold is some unknown fitting because garden hose, even with 2 rubber
gaskets will leak. Flow valves are very restrictive and inaccurate. Mine
were fully turned in and according to Pexuniverse you have to unwind them
1/4″ out so they start to flow. I did that and one started to leak.

If you look into shut off valves on cold side in fully open position the
gap between the pipe and rubber cap is only 1/16″ therefore super
restrictive. As I mentioned b4 I have a big pump, Taco 10 which I was told
is a overkill for my system yet the manifolds are so restrictive I cannot
have enough flow for my thankless heater to detect flow and turn on. Im
chopping the flow meters and removing valves. Have to do some welding to
    cover the holes.

Yeah i’ve noticed same thing with the drains on the right. I broke one of
them off, which meant it couldn’t shut anymore, so I took it out and
plugged it. Also, you can take the mount for those valves out and just put
a plug in the manifold. I had to do that for one of mine. although I had to
use tons of teflon tape and not super confident it’ll stay not leaking.

Sorry to be off topic. Way back you found a way to pan your camera during
time lapse. How did you do this as the effect is awsome.

Impressive project. The arrangement of the boiler’s circulator and
expansion tank should be reversed, however. As it is now, the pressure in
most of the system will drop when the circulator is turned on. If you have
trouble getting all the air out of the system, this might be the culprit. G
