I use an Earlex 5500 HVLP to apply finishes, (water & oil based).
Leaves an impeccable result, huge coverage & perfect for rough surfaces.
Plus all you need is an extension lead.

I’ve sprayed water based varnish before & while you do get some foam at the
nozzle the bubbles applied are negligible.
Unlike a Compressor which is on or off, you have a constant flow of
filtered air. Media only comes when you apply the trigger.
So you can flatten, air dry & even clear debris beforehand.
It’s worth the investment if only for its other uses.

It is the most important step in the finishing! So keep your calm and don’t
    get in a hurry-mode, please!

    HELP !
The guy who installed my T/G ceiling in the sunroom let the last four rows
of boards get water spotted in a spring shower before I could drag the
    boards inside.
My husband has hand-sanded + the spots are still showing.
( I didn’t want machine circular sanding marks to show)
I do NOT want to apply poly until spots are gone.
They’ll show through and I’ll hate it.
    WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND ???
