Hey Great Videos i started watching your videos last night monday at 6pm i
was laying in bed with a bad cough and runny nose and for some reason i got
hooked on watching your videos i must admit that it was quite entertaining
as you Americans/ Canadians build houses and garages in a very different
way to what we Australians do as we dont put OSB on the walls we just put
the exterior covering or siding straight on to the frame but then again it
doesnt get as cold here and now its Tuesday 11AM
And i still haven’t slept yet and just now i saw a button called transcript
so i clicked on it and google attempts to translate what was said in the
video into text and i read it and i could not stop laughing my guts are so
sore it sent me into a coughing fit …you should read it ….any how take
care and thanks for posting it was great to watch now im going to roll over
and try get some sleep no there are no more vids of yours on this channel i
can watch bye Joel
Dude, nice! Sorry you aren’t feeling well, but glad you got to watch a
little MyGarageBuild marathon. Yeah the transcripts are usually way off
especially for my rambling nature.
It’s a good point. I hope I’m not ruining it for other americans. I will
never use OSB again for walls or floors, it was a poor choice on my part
because I’m a cheapskate, I don’t think anyone else here is that dumb, but
plenty of people are that cheap! :) Advantec would be worth it, which is
OSB however.
thanks for getting back to me. I seen it on another video but this one I
seen it a lot and was wondering if it was maybe flashing that I seen. love
the videos keep up the great work been fun watching it all come together
Thats how we Americans built homes about 50 years ago. It was later decided
to start adding more “Lateral” strength above and beyond the angle brace
inside the wall;thus, wall shear was engineered to strengthen homes that
has allowed the architect to add brick veneer, combat stucco cracks, and to
also help keep homes more stable during earthquakes. This added feature of
wall shear has allowed for a much heavier home to be built with large open
floor plans at multiple levels.
Good job, looks good. Are you going to fill the gap with wood filer?
That crack is so going to annoy you, (like when our Plumber comes round)!
Tongue & Groove…..Reminds me of a night at the Disco when I was a
kid..lmao!

is it me or does it look like some times you can see daylight through some
of the joints on the walls.. flashing maybe?
No it’s not just you. You actually can see daylight. That part isn’t
“finished” yet. Those will be windows, but I haven’t gotten that far yet. :)

Yes I ended up fixing it after, it did annoy me. :)
