for your garage door you almost need a low profile hood strut from a car or
a spring of some sort to let it go down when lifting and close up when up
and down. And can you cut the bottom of your door and hang it lower to make
it fit rather than notching the door? Just a suggestion, I am by no ways a
    carpenter.

For the door your talking about Notching… What about notching the door
then install a small saloon door type hinge on the small notched part that
way when you open the door its always in place… Just a thought…

You need to lower your track 1 more inch so they will all clear!

Have you made any progress since this video? I can send you instructions on
building a hinging top bracket so the top section stays in the tracks yet
allows the top section to fold back before opening.

why dont you just cut the vertical tracks, maybe an inch or two, that will
allow your horizontal track to angel back, possibly enough for the top
section to actually stay in the track… it looks like you wouldn’t need
much to get it to operate properly.. there are special hinges like you had
in video 2, if you install them at the right height on the top section…
    you might make it!
