What I learned – bucket truck gas tank
Learning in life is essential. Sometimes it’s hard, and on this bucket truck gas tank project I learned some really hard lessons…
This video is what life is about. Learning from your mistakes…
My addition to the list would be : Don’t use the WRONG TOOL just because
you’re too lazy, tired, or fed up with the project to go get the RIGHT
TOOL! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve burned myself with that one. And
of course, I swear I’ll never do it again and … yup … you get it. ;)
Since I retire from my career, I work part time in a parts house. You’d be
surprised at the number of people that have no clue as to what they are
working on. They won’t know the year, make, model, sub-model, engine size
or the part they are looking for. They guess at it and we sell them what
they ask for. if it’s wrong, they blame us for not knowing better. Most
of us repair what we own, not what other people drive, Ask if we have any
experience with your vehicle, don’t assume.
i need a DO NOT list in my Garage… Good List.!!!!
great advice! now if only i can remember to listen to it
I am about ten kilometers away from the nearest shop. With the high
gasprices and trafficjams I train myself to think twice and plan right! I
make a to buy list and when I am on a job I make a list of tools which I
might need and take with me everything that might be possinly needed!!!
Before a project I go to the store and take note of al the items I need and
what they do cost before buying “anything”!!! I regularly orden my
spareparts so I keep in touch with what I have in store
That keeps me from buying things I allready have!
Yes…good tools are a job half done!!! Before using a spiral drill or a
plane..sharpen it benchgrinder!
I’ll add: “take a break before you stop having fun” and “give yourself
compassion when you make mistakes”
