Indoor TreeHouse Bed for Kids
Before I hatched the idea of an Indoor TreeHouse I was faced with the challenge of a very small bedroom. I wanted to create a room that had floor space to play on, clothes storage but also make a space for them to crawl around in under neath as a “Fort” of sorts. As I started to design the beds though I came up with ideas like making doorways to pass through and when the question of how to attach it came up it made sense to go all the way to the ceiling to make it stronger. Once I did that it seemed a shame to waste all the space above their beds and so I thought of putting lofts above the beds. Well once there were lofts I thought it would be cool to string a hammock in between them so they could crawl across. Well one thing led to another and I had designed pretty much what you see in the video.
Then I started thinking how could I make it more interesting than boring old plywood. I came up with the idea to make it seem like a castle and there could be cutouts for hands for climbing up and to see out. I thought about painting it to look like rocks.
The castle idea was quickly abandoned once I thought of the indoor treehouse idea. So I went with it.

I got it: how about two-thirds of the tree house (one tree and the green net) and one-third castle! Just brainstorming, don’t mind me…

I’m doing this as a “make a dream come true” for realties for children here in Fort Collins, Colorado. I’d like to see the plans before I just dive into it, but if you are packaging up a kickstarter campaign, I understand, we will figure it out ;) Great video BTW.
